3-Legged Kitten Is Adopted By Little Girl With An Amputated Arm & They Become The Best Of Friends
If you're looking for a heartwarming tale to make you feel better on this always-tough first week of January, this will do it. It features two-year-old Scarlette Tipton who at only 10 months old was diagnosed with cancer. It resulted in her having her left arm completely amputated.
After going through all the treatment and recovery Scarlette's parents wanted to find her a pet, a companion, a kitten she could grow up and share her life with. But they wanted to find one that was similar to her, so after 18 months of looking they saw a three-legged rescue kitten on local TV, called Doc, who'd had her right paw amputated after a car accident.
Doc was the perfect match and after tracking the cat down and finding out how they could adopt her, on Christmas eve the family went to the shelter to visit and by the following Wednesday Doc was settling in as the newest member of their family.
“Scarlette was really excited, she absolutely loves cats. She did notice that Doc had staples on her side and said ‘owies’." Scarelette's mom told Love Meow. "I let her know that she had owies just like her, and she placed her hand on her side and just nodded. She recognizes that the cat has similar struggles as she does.”
And that, as the line goes, was the beginning of a beautiful friendship. You can check out these adorable BFFs below.
