Hilarious Accidental Censorship Turns Rio Olympics 2016 Men's Divers Into Porn Stars

If you turned over to watch the Rio Olympics men's diving competition at the wrong (or perhaps right) moment, you might be forgiven for thinking that you had tuned in to watch something much steamier.

Because through a combination of the skimpy speedos the men's divers wear and the placement of the scoreboard/name card by TV channels, it makes them look like they're wearing nothing at all.

It's something that, naturally, hasn't gone unnoticed by the internet, in fact it's spawned the hashtag #FreeTheSpeedo. Along with giving people plenty of fuel when it comes to letting their imaginations go wild.

It's not just the accidental censorship of the scoreboards either that makes them look so, well, NSFW. It's the poses they do and the fact they all look like they could be hanging out down at the local sauna.

Whether it's taking a shower post-dive or giving the thumbs up at the camera, their stances all add to the sense that you're watching porn stars rather than Olympians.

It's certainly got a lot of people on social media hot under the collar, and has also provided people with plenty of eye-candy.

Once this year's diving is over, it's going to be sorely missed. But no doubt men's diving has won itself a few more fans this year.
