World's Largest Aircraft The Airlander 10 Is Getting A, Ahem, Bum Deal And You'll See Why
Airlander 10 will soon takes it first voyage after testing successfully. It's exciting times for the British aerospace company Hybrid Air Vehicles who built the airship, which is considered to be the world's largest aircraft.
Originally part of a US army project it never came to fruition and instead has now been adapted by British aerospace firm Hybrid Air Vehicles to provide business and leisure flights in the UK.
It sits at an impressive 300ft long and in a test was filled with 1.3 million cubic feet of helium. It can carry around 50 people and hit a top speed of 91mph.
However, even though it is officially the biggest aircraft currently flying and would easily dwarf an Airbus A380 it would be completely dwarfed by the likes of the historic Zeppelins built in Germany during the 1930s.
If the maiden flight next month goes swimmingly an aircraft based on this prototype will go into production. But unfortunately for Airlander it does seem to feature a rather unusual 'ass-pect' in it's design feature that once seen can never be unseen.
It's hoped that such a vessel could bring a renewed interest in airships, but what seems to have caught everyone's attention is its appearance. Because from certain angles it looks like a, well, it looks like a huge ass.
So forget about the incredible feats of engineering involved, once Twitter got hold of the fact it looked like giant butt it picked it up and ran with it. In poured the jokes.
But hey, all PR is good PR, right?
So it's all aboard the booty airbus. The ass-ship. The Ass-lander 10. Anyway, you get the idea.
