Disgruntled Bald Guy Asks Hollywood To Stop Portraying Bald Men As Evil Villains
Bald guy equals evil. That's been a trope for quite some time in the movie business, so much so that we have all come to expect it when we watch a film (ok, So maybe X-Men's Professor X might be the exception-but you never know, do you-i mean, he's bald, right?). But one man (one bald man) is taking umbrage with it, and is fighting back in the name of bald men everywhere.
He's had enough, enough of Hollywood demonising the hairless!
So he's taken his plight to YouTube and made a video decrying Hollywood for their shameless attacks on the bare-headed, and their constant portrayal as villains and bad guys.
"I'm bald, therefore I'm evil or somehow damaged," he says in the video. "This notion has seeped into every pour of our media and believe me I fully expect you to sit there blind to your hair privilege and not have any understanding of how this pervasive negative portrayal of bald people has affected your bias."
The video, by YouTuber DarkAntics, is actually done in jest, it's a satire "about how professional victims and offense takers critique art." DarkAntics notes. But it's very funny.
And he does have a point, there's Lex Luthor, Bane, Voldemort, Dr. Evil of course—all bald. No surprise there, because deep down, each one of knows that a bald man is an evil man, right?
