Barbershop Offers To Cut Badly Behaved Children's Hair In The Style Of Balding Old Men As Punishment
What's a parent to do with a naughty kid? Well, one thing you could do is take them down to the A-1 Kutz Barbershop in Snellville, Georgia which offers to cut your kid's hair in the style of an old man as punishment for their bad behavior.
The haircut is called a "Benjamin Button Special" and means your kid's hair will resemble that of a balding old man and they'll be ridiculed by their peers. The barbershop will do it for free too.
Owner Russell Fredrick first used the cut on his own 12-year-old son and it was so effective, he started to advertise it at his shop too.
The barbershop posted a pic of a 10-year-old kid (above) who'd had a "Benjamin Button Special" on their Facebook page and it went viral. Some people were outraged (because internet) claiming it was abuse, others saw it as an appropriate way to teach kids a lesson. But Frederick says it should only be used as a last resort, not just to give yourself a cheap laugh at your child's expense.
“I hope that most people won’t have to do this unless it’s an extreme circumstances and nothing else is working,” he told The Washington Post. “First, you talk or implement your restrictions. But when the conventional ways don’t work these days, you have to get creative.”
And for anyone worried about that little ten-year-old boy with hair like George Costanza, the barbershop later posted the following update to Facebook, saying his hair had somehow been restored.
