Bugatti's New Supercar, The Chiron, Is Stunning And Will Be The Fastest Production Car On The Planet
It's been 11 long years since Bugatti last released a new car model. The Bugatti Veyron was the last one but now the wait is coming to an end as Bugatti's new supercar, the Chiron, is here. Like the Veyron that came before it, it's a feat of engineering.
With 1,479bhp, a 16-cylinder engine, 0-62mph in less than 2.5 seconds, and able to hit 261mph it will overtake the Veyron as the fastest production car on the planet.
The 8.0-liter W16 engine can produce 1,103 kW (1,500 bps) and a maximum torque of 1,600 Nm from 2,000rpm thanks to four turbochargers, developed by Bugatti.
“It is part of human nature to cross boundaries and set new records – to run 100 m faster than ever before, to fly even further into space and to enter new realms." said Wolfgang Dürheimer, president of Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. "This striving is also our driving force at Bugatti. The Chiron is the result of our efforts to make the best even better. Bugatti has tested the limits of physics. There is no area where we have not achieved significant improvements.”
The car has four driving modes, auto, autobahn, handling, and top speed, an electric power steering system, carbon fibre body structure, independent suspension, and 4WD system.
And it could be yours for a cool $2.6 million. But you better be quick, of the 500 units to be produced which will be available towards the end of 2016, 120 have already been snapped up.
