'Call of Duty: Black Ops III "Ember" Reveals A Bleak Future Of Terrifying Government Super Soldiers
The second tease for the new Call of Duty: Black Ops III game is a masterclass in how to get fans of a franchise hyped for the next installment. The game centers around a rather dystopian future where new technology known as "retinal chips" can be implanted to turn people into government super soldiers.
What's clever about the tease is that it uses footage and ideas from the past and present—wearable tech, robotic prosthetics—to then pave the way for the terrifying prospect of augmented super soldiers. Which makes it all the more realistic, if entirely bleak.
So take a watch and even if you've never played the series before or even know what a video game is, you'll be anticipating the latest installment's release like an excited gaming nerd. It just has that effect.
And after you've watched that, you can check out the Reveal trailer below, which features gameplay footage set to the Rolling Stones' "Paint it Black."
Call of Duty: Black Ops III will be released 6 November 2015.
