Captain America: Civil War's Airport Fight Is Much Funnier With Added 'Marvel Vs. Capcom' Sound FX
The Marvel Vs. Capcom video games, as you can probably deduce from the title if you've never played them before, were a series of crossover fighting games. It kicked off back in 1996 with X-Men vs. Street Fighter and has so far spun six sequels.
For the purposes of this video we need only concern ourselves with the third instalment which was Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes. You could play as various Marvel superheroes like Captain America, Spider-Man, Hulk and Capcom favs like SF2's Ryu, Mega Man, and Chun-Li.
Because fight scenes in contemporary Hollywood blockbusters often feel like the kinetic mayhem of a fighting game, YouTuber Frob Man has added sound FX and music from Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes into the epic airport fight scene from the Captain America: Civil War movie.
Although there's no Ryu or Mega Man we do get to see Spidey taking on the Winter Soldier, Black Panther taking on Cap, and Iron Man vs. Hawkeye with the over the top announcer sounds, punching FX, grunts, slogans, and the rest from Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes.
It works very well, with the audio perfectly fitting the action. Which is probably some kind of testament to how much video games have influenced modern Hollywood action and superhero movies.
