Children's Walking Dead Cosplay Photo Shoot—The Gang Are All Here But As Much Cuter Versions
If you've ever been to a Walking Dead fan event you'll see that a lot of cosplayers who have kids get their children to dress up too. It's all part of the fun.
But photographer Alana Hubbard found herself at the receiving end of some internet outrage when her children's Walking Dead cosplay photoshoot went viral.
Hubbard recreated various iconic scenes from the The Walking Dead TV show, including the one where Carol shoots the mentally disturbed child Lizzie in the back of the head. The one with Carol saying "Look at the flowers, Lizzie. Just look at the flowers." It's an emotional, upsetting scene, not quite as upsetting when reenacted with children but some people took offence.
Other equally controversial photos replicate various iconic scenes from the TV show, including a kid dressed up as Negan complete with Lucille and fake barb wire. And Daryl fleeing zombies on his motorcycle. Along with the kids dressed up as characters like Rick and Abraham holding guns and pretending to shoot zombies. There's also some added Photoshop post-production gore to add some extra controversy.
Hubbard says the kids enjoyed it, she used her own 5-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter among other children, and they obviously knew it was all pretend.
Still, people were upset and even got her banned from Facebook for awhile. But as well as its detractors it's also won plenty of admirers too, some of which were actors in The Walking Dead.
You can make your own mind up and take a look at some of the photos below. Head to Hubbard's Facebook page to see the whole set.
