LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Game Trailer Is Released That Parodies The Movie's Original Teaser
The movie itself may have come and gone and been rewatched but there's more Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and it comes in the form of the official Lego video game tie-in which will come out 28 June. Called LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens it lets players play through what happens in the movie, along with "new story content exploring the time period between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, adding additional insight into the movie and its characters."
But forget about that, because the best thing about it so far is the trailer they've put out, which is a parody of the original The Force Awakens teaser trailer, the one that starts with Finn's heavy-breathing head popping into view with the Jakku desert in the background.
If you can cast your mind back that far, the trailer came out in November 2014, and at the time not only was it well received but it also brought with it a ton of parodies. One of those parodies was a Lego version of the teaser.
Well, now we have an official one, which is kind of weird but also an indication of where we are in terms of how internet mashups, parodies, and remixes have come to influence culture at large (and marketing strategies).
Anyway, it's really well done and as well as mimicking the shots it also throws in some visual gags to add some extra fun to the whole thing.
