#FoxNewsFacts: Twitter Users Respond To Security Expert's Claim That British City Is 'Muslim-Only'
Fox News' "security expert" Steve Emerson recently claimed that Birmingham, a city in the UK, was a no-go zone where non-Muslims aren't welcome and fear to tread. The outrageous, completely unfounded claim is hilarious, if slightly worrying considering Emerson is supposed to be a terrorism analyst. A terrorism analyst who has never been to Birmingham, UK or even googled it, because his claim couldn't be further from the truth.
He also said that London had "Muslim religious police" that would attack "anyone who doesn't dress according to religious Muslim attire." You can listen to Emerson's inventive fiction above, which would be better suited to a sci-fi novel than a TV news show.
His comments were so foolish even UK prime minister David Cameron weighed in. "When I heard this, frankly, I choked on my porridge and I thought it must be April Fools’ day," said Cameron. "This guy’s clearly a complete idiot." Clearly.
And, of course, the people of twitter ridiculed him too. And rightly so. They used the hashtag #FoxNewsFacts to come up with some ridiculous and nonsensical "facts" in honor of Emerson's epic faux pas.
