Furry Nails: A Slightly Scary Manicure Craze That Turns Your Fingers Into Werewolf Hands
It boggles the mind as to why you would want to do this to your nails. And whether it is actually a trend or not, as in has anyone actually seen anybody not in a fashion shoot or show wearing nails covered in fur, but at least it has a hashtag so that's something, right?
It started with Jan Arnold, who is style director and co-founder of CND nail polish. Arnold sent models onto the runway at Libertine's Fall/Winter 2016 show with fake fur on their nails.
Arnold is known for creating nail art for big fashion houses and she seems to have created these furry nails as a runway showpiece and for publicity rather than an actual way for people to decorate their nails.
And credit to Arnold, because as a PR stunt it's worked out pretty well.
"With this collection, we were able to embody CND’s Fall 2016 trend story, which is all about authenticity, hand-crafted artistry and embracing the beauty in raw imperfections.” said Arnold in a press release.
Fair enough, the result is that the models' hands look like something from the FX department of 1980s Michael J. Fox movie Teen Wolf.

#throwbackthursday to these fun little fellas! Their faces have proven to be one of the craziest, but also most popular designs I've done to date. The background polish is @azature Charcoal Diamond and the little shirts are (from left to right) @serumno5 Infrared & Blue Blazes, @chinaglazeofficial Yellow Polka Dot Bikini and @serumno5 Laven-daringly Bright. The rest is freehand with acrylic paint and ofcourse the hairs are... well... hairs (!) that I cut loose from pieces of plush fabric.
