Jehovah's Witnesses' Laughable Anti-Gay Animation Mimics Pixar To Oppose Same-Sex Parenting

Religious tolerance doesn't stretch to gay people if you're a Jehovah's Witness. In fact the religious evangelists are notorious for their anti-gay stance and now they're using animations, animations that look very Pixar-esque, to try and teach kids about their intolerant mindset.

It's pretty sinister stuff, delivering a message of hate coated in the sugary cuteness of a kid's cartoon, but it's also laughable because it's so ridiculous. It features a little girl who shows her mom a drawing her friend did in school of two moms.

That's used as a jumping off point for the mom to lecture the kid on why Jehovah sanctions heterosexual marriage and why same-sex parenting won't get anyone to paradise.

“Jehovah created Adam and Eve, male and female. Then he said a man will stick to his wife… Jesus said the same thing." says the mom. “Jehovah’s standards haven’t changed. It’s kind of like bringing something on an plane – what happens if someone tries to bring something on that isn’t allowed? It’s the same with Jehovah! He wants us to be his friend, and live in paradise forever, but we have to follow his standards to get there. To get there we have to leave some things behind – that means anything Jehovah doesn’t approve of.”

The video then ends with the mother suggesting the little girl go tell her friend that Jehovah wouldn't approve of her two moms.

It's brilliant parenting if you want your kids to turn into small-minded bigots, but for anyone else it's blatant hogwash. The good news is someone fixed the animation into a much more open and accepting video which delivers a positive pro-LGBT message.
