Man Wants To Recreate 9-11 By Crashing A Plane Into A Building To Prove It Actually Happened
Paul Salo, an American living in Asia, is crowdfunding a project which if he reaches his target of $1.5 million will see him recreate 9-11 by crashing a fully loaded Boeing 767 into a building similar in structure to the WTC. He will do this by crashing it on autopilot at 500 MPH.
He's not sure exactly what country will allow him to undertake such an insane idea, but he doesn't care. "I'm a globe trotter and will go where we need to go to complete this important project." he explains on the Indiegogo page where he's seeking funding.
Why is he doing it? Well, he says he wants to see and record what happens and in turn either disprove or prove the conspiracy theorists. "We are like a Mythbusters for September 11th." he claims. "Many people doubt various details of 9-11. As the world has changed our trust in government and media has declined significantly. We want to see for ourselves. We don't need people to guide our thinking. In this project we will recreate 9-11 to the best of our ability given the funds raised."
The project is called September 11th Redux and it launched three days ago. The reason they need so much money is because it costs a lot to destroy a plane and a building, $100,000 will go just on fuel alone. If you fancy pledging $5,000 that gets you a front row seat when they re-stage it. Although you wouldn't want to be too front row. Or you can just watch the recording if you don't want to get such a closeup view.
Even if he doesn't hit the desired funding target, Salo plans to stage some event with a plane and a building. "If we don't reach our goal of $1.5 million, we will purchase a smaller plane and building." he says. "Either way, we are going to learn a heck of a lot. But from the interest we have so far, I think we will reach and surpass our goal."
So far in three days the project has raised a not-so-whopping $399.
