Monkey Adopts A Stray Puppy In India And The Pair Make An Adorable Couple
There are a lot of stray dogs in India and that means there are a lot of stray puppies too. One pup has got lucky though because a local monkey has adopted him, showing some inter-species compassion and also proving that nature isn't always such a cruel mistress.
The rhesus macaque in New Delhi not only protects the pup from other bigger stray dogs to keep it safe, she feeds it too, ensuring that the pup has eaten well before she feeds herself.
"People who have seen them spoke of their strong mutual affection and described their bond as the most caring thing in the world -- to take care of a puppy in danger and protect him like a parent." Z News said.
The monkey's affection has a wider benefit too, because local people see the two together and are so moved by their relationship they give them food, meaning they get fed better than most.
