Mother-Of-Two Shares Harrowing Story Of Domestic Abuse To Help Others Stuck In Similar Situation

Emma Murphy, a fitness expert and mother-of-two from Ireland made the courageous decision to post a video to Facebook detailing her story as a victim of domestic violence. With a black eye and one of her kids playing in the background, she uploaded the emotionally-charged video to not only share her story but raise awareness of the issue.

"I thought long and hard before posting this video, this is very difficult for me but I have to do what is RIGHT," she writes on Facebook. "If you or anyone you know has it is in a similar situation please share this video to inspire other women around the world, violence is NOT the answer!!!!"

Since uploading the video on 6th July it's received more than 6 million views, over 100,000 shares and thousands of comments showing support and commending her on her bravery.

In the harrowing video Murphy talks of a history of abuse, with her now ex asshole-of-a-boyfriend (who's also the father of her kids) once splitting her head open.

The latest incident, which left her with a black eye, came about from her confronting him over having an affair with another woman.

It's obviously a very upsetting video because Murphy herself is very visibly upset, but by coming forward and sharing her story others can benefit. "So if anyone out there has gone through something similar to what I’ve gone through, you need to find the courage and get away from anything that’s an unhealthy as violence." she concludes. "Go to your friends and family, people who love you and care about you."
