South Park Trivia 101: Here Are 15 Things You Probably Didn't Know About The Show
South Park, it's been with us for quite a while now and shows no signs of getting stale, and thereby hangs the question that a lot of people who love (and hate) the show want to know. Well, one very big reason that it has endured this long might center around the fact that as well as dealing with very current events the two creators of the show, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, are both 'call-out specialists'.
'Yeah, i knew that', you all say, as your brain does a futile search for 'call-out specialist' and you think to yourself 'what the hell is that?'--Don't worry, read on, we have your back.
According to the good people at Today: "They're the person who's always willing to bring up uncomfortable truths. They let it be known that Wendy has a big zit on her temple. They inform the room that Steve drunk dialed his ex-girlfriend last night and then cried about it. The Call-Out Specialist can be annoying, crude and awkward. But they're also an integral part of any social group, working to keep everyone accountable."
They go on to say, "Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of “South Park,” are expert call-out specialists, and it's why the show is great. Not only that, it's why the show has endured. "
And it's true people, it's a format that has stood the test of time and has not seen a deviation from that cause, but behind the scenes there were some very close calls that might have been catastrophic had they been actioned - I mean, can you imaging the show without Kyle, what a disaster that would have been.
SO sit back and enjoy some of the 'lesser' known truths around the world's (well, my world) greatest cartoon show for grown-ups.
