Spectacular Aerial Night Photos Of San Francisco Taken From 7,200 Feet

Photographer Vincent Laforet has captured these stunning photos of San Francisco, taken in a helicopter flying 7,200 feet above the city by the bay.

Shot at night, the city becomes an almost abstract sea of dark grids surrounded by orange-hued lines. There's something a bit Blade Runner about the images, which shows the sprawl and complexity of this vast metropolis.

"You can almost feel the pulse of the city through the perfectly lined up carlights and brake lights in downtown." writes Laforet on Storehouse. "Like blood flowing thru veins."

The series follows on from his previous aerial shoots of Las Vegas and New York City. Comparing them Laforet says, "Flying over San Francisco is daunting - unlike New York City and Vegas that have clear borders, this is a city that never seems to end. And I frankly think I've only scratched the surface so far."
