'Star Wars Photo Shop' Blends The Galaxy Far, Far Away With Iconic Movies And Pop Culture
Star Wars has permeated much of popular culture since it went cosmic at the box office back when the original film was released in 1977, and it has had a huge resurgence with the release of The Force Awakens at the end of last year. But imagine if it wasn't just merchandise and Family Guy specials, Robot Chicken, and YouTube parodies.
Imagine if it started to overtake other franchises and movies and TV shows. Imagine if EVERYTHING in pop culture was Star Wars? Well, you can rest your imagination because Star Wars Photo Shop (aka WookieeNutz) has been creating Star Wars fan art and mashups with all manner of characters and shows from popular culture.
The photoshops even served as the inspiration behind those Star Wars/classic album crossovers. And like those these are done with a fan's eye view, a knowing nod, and plenty of humor.
So we get the Star Wars universe merged with other sci-fi—Star Trek, RoboCop—other movies like Ghostbusters, Pulp Fiction, cartoons like Scooby-Doo, The Muppets, Colonel Sanders (Obi Wan becomes the Colonel), even the Olympics.
Nowhere or nothing is safe from these cultural mashups. But it doesn't matter because they're so well done you'll be glad there's so many of them.
