'Beth' - A Touching Story That Probably Every Guy Who’s Ever Been Out Late Can Totally Relate To

You know a song is a classic when it gets parodied. The legendary KISS ballad, “Beth” is no exception. This short film, directed by Brian Billow and written by Bob Winter, chronicles the completely fictitious story of the song’s inspiration. But seen from the point of view of Beth

Winter told Adweek that he first got the idea for the spoof when he was working as chief creative officer at Young & Rubicam in Chicago, "I was thinking that it might be fun to create a series that's like the made-up stories behind real songs."

The Peter Criss character's dialog stays true to the song's lyrics, centered around Criss' wife who calls him up during band practice and asks when he’s coming home.

But he’s not coming home, because he’s going to be jamming all night long. Like you do.

Here the song gets turned into a funny short film that every guy who’s ever been out late can relate to. And it’s full of great 1976 period detail too.

The icing on the cake is the visualization of KISS in the recording studio laying down tracks in full costume and make-up. It's so unrealistic it's brilliant.
