The Truth Is Back! The X-Files Is Returning To TV With David Duchovny And Gillian Anderson
Mulder and Scully are to return to our TV screens, and torrent sites, with the announcement by Fox of a six-episode event series. The shows creator Chris Carter will be heading it up and David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will return as FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.
No air date has been set just yet, but production will begin this summer, so start getting EXCITED!
Earlier this year, Newman and Walden (Fox Television Group chairs) confirmed early plans for “The X-Files” revival at the Television Critics Assn. press tour.
Now official, Duchovny And Anderson commented: “We had the privilege of working with Chris on all nine seasons of ‘The X-Files’ — one of the most rewarding creative experiences of our careers — and we couldn’t be more excited to explore that incredible world with him again.”
It's been over a decade since the show was last on our screens and a lot has changed since, but Carter sees this as a good thing. "I think of it as a 13-year commercial break." he says. "The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories."
Both Duchovny and Anderson took to twitter to share the news.
Good news, indeed. Might as well celebrate by listening to Catatonia's 90s hit "Mulder And Scully."
