Selfie-Lapse - Watch This Guy's Hair And Beard Grow Wild As He Walks 2,800 Miles Across China

For his 26th birthday Christoph Rehage set himself the ambitious task of walking from Beijing to his homeland of Germany. He didn't quite make it that far but he did undertake a journey of epic proportions.

He walked, on foot, across China.

Starting in Beijing Rehage walked around 2,800 miles, passing the Gobi desert on his way and recording his journey by taking selfies. Lots of selfies.

He starts by filming himself looking clean cut and shaven and documents his changing physical appearance as he lets his hair and beard grow wild, turning his adventure into a selfie-lapse.

As you watch you see Rehage getting more grizzly as he clocks up more miles and more friends.

Writing about the video he says, "All of the distance from Beijing to Ürümqi was completed solely on foot, straight good old walking. There are instances where you can see me in the video sitting on a plane or riding a boat, but those are during breaks I had to take from walking, either to sort out bureaucracy issues or to take care of some personal things."

He goes on to say, " I had been planning this trip for over a year before I even started, and getting as far as I got was an experience for which I am very grateful."

It's a fascinating video in that you get to see the changing landscape of both the amazing terrain he walks through and also the mesmerizing development of his facial hair.
