Zach LaVine Wins Sprite Slam Dunk Contest With Epic 'Space Jam' Dunk -- #NBA
The signs were there when Zach LaVine stepped onto the court rocking a No. 23 Michael Jordan jersey from 1996's Space Jam movie. And then the fact that he calls the shot a "Space Jam Dunk" should've shown his opponents that they might be in trouble.
Without a Looney Tunes character in sight Minnesota Timberwolves' LaVine went on to win the 2015 NBA All-Star Sprite Slam Dunk competition with two perfect scores from the judges. The 19-year-old is the second youngest winner in the history of the event—the youngest is Kobe Bryant who was 18.
"I'm still on cloud nine," LaVine told the NBA. "I feel like I'm dreaming. Seeing all the dunk contests and people hoisting the trophy. I just saw myself do it and lived it. So it's a dream come true. I'm glad my family is here to witness it and go through it."
